The Spiritual Gifts Matrix was created as an organizational tool to assist with the study of the gifts and their use in the body. While there is no organizational structure of the gifts noted in the Bible other than the “greater” gifts, there are a number of references about balance of the gifts in the body.
As illustrated previously in Paul’s writings, the body of Christ needs all parts in order to function and carry out Christ’s work in the world. This not only applies to the whole body but to different parts of the body as well. Ministries, organizations, and basic groups charged with the function of the Church also must have a balance of the gifts to be successful.
Keep this in mind as you read about the different gifts and groups of gifts. Think about the groups within the church that you belong to. Do you see the gifts at work? Do you see areas where a gift is needed to move that group forward? Are you paying attention to those with certain gifts and allowing them to use them? Imagine what you could accomplish with a balance of the right gifts.
